In The Garden

This last week I finally had the chance to make it to one of the most beautiful and serene spots in the Portland Area; The Portland Japanese Garden. Nestled near the Rose garden and Oregon zoo. After a short inclined walk, entering feels like stepping into another world.

If you are looking for a  quiet day trip by yourself I would highly recommend stopping here. Not only is it a great place for pictures and selfies, but even on a busy day there are a plethora of spots hidden throughout to the grounds to have a quiet and reflective moment to yourself.

I have been waiting on the perfect place to wear this Topshop find, and the gardens proved to be the perfect place. Kimono style covers are a staple in my wardrobe. Elegant, comfortable they bring an effortlessly international feel to any tank and skirt or jean combination.

Side note: I would recommend supportive shoes on your trip here. If your planning on taking pictures for the day like I did, opt for flats.

If your in the mood to treat yourself, make a reservation for the Umami Cafe. On the pricey side for traditional tea but a relaxing ambiance and presentation make for a lovely experience for your first visit.

The Japanese Garden hosts a number of exhibits throughout the year and weekly events celebrating Japanese music, food and festivals. Interested in seeing some upcoming events at the garden? click HERE
