Lavender & Lemons

This weekend I had the joy of visiting the Helvetia lavender festival. July is the perfect time to get out of the city and visit one of the many farms that surround the Portland area.

I am usually not one for floral scents but there is just something so wonderfully intoxicating about the smell of Lavender. Driving up to the long hill, the scent of the flowers on the warm breeze.

What better place to wear a fun printed dress than out in the country side. I paired this recent torrid find with a simple chamber denim button down for a little for coverage and I really like how it turned out.

This was my first time attending Lavender
festival and I was delighted by how many small business were selling fresh made goods. I found some wonderful natural soaps from a small company called Soap and Saints.

My favorite part of the festival was a tea and scones cafe that had been set up on the veranda. Freshly iced lavender tea, a buttery scone covered in a mixed berry blend and a lemon curd, all topped with a view that only summer in the countryside can bring.
